As mother always said, you get what you pay for. This item is cheap junk -- it would not even fit into the USB slot on my computer because the plastic and the metal casing were misaligned due to poor manufacturing. Skip this and get something better.
(I had only the memory limit of my cell phone holding me back) Turn on your cell phone Bluetooth and Make it visible if you want to FIND it. I inserted it in to my computer (It's plug & play) and it worked great. (That is 2 settings in my cell phone) I keep my computer on the floor and this is so small I don't have to worry about kicking it and busting it off in the USB port, its just the little black bump sticking out and its on the back. Windows xp had the driver built in, I don't know what driver problems others had (Try the default windows driver). Works great for transfering MP3 Ring tones to my cell phone. Can push my computer all the way to the wall. (Great product)
The product looks good, small and tiny, but the drivers did not work in my system. Means, if the data exceeds 5 mb, it stops, u have to again re establish a session. I run a Windows XP with SP3. After installing the drivers, I got a message telling that the drivers are trial version, so only 5 mb of data transfer is allowed in one session. Meaning u can never send or recieve more than 5 mb of data unless u buy the drivers from Blue Soliel. Instead one can buy such micro USB dongle from Kensington or IO gear for $20 with original working drivers and the dongle.
But this guy is just right. Really neat design. On a laptop the standard design is just waiting to fall off, get knocked off, break the Dongle, break the port etc. Small and rounded. Stays in place firmly.Only problem I have not figued out how to get it to talk to my Nokia cell phone.
Plug-n-play works great, windows xp detects and installs it, easily supporting Bluetooth. If only my phone would be able to sync via Bluetooth
